Top UCL side 'showing interest' in Arteta

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is now reportedly being pursued by a top UEFA Champions League club.

The Spaniard has earned many plaudits this season, with his Gunners leading the Premier League title race this season and on course to potentially end their two decade-long wait to be champions of England once again.

With the Arsenal flying high in England, a number of top European clubs have begun showing interest in the manager, including Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Questions about Les Parisiens boss Christophe Galtier's future have been raised following the club's exit from the UCL at the round of 16 stage once again, while the recent allegations of racism and Islamophobia against him have also led to reports suggesting that his time at the Parc des Princes will soon come to an end.

According to Fichajes, Arteta is now on PSG's shortlist of potential managers to take over from Galtier, a list that is also said to feature Zinedine Zidane, Jose Mourinho, Julian Nagelsmann and Thiago Motta.

The PSG hierarchy are said to value the good work the former FC Barcelona academy graduate, who played for the French giants between 2001 and 2002, has done with the London club, who last played UCL football in 2017.

However, prising Arteta from his role at the Emirates Stadium could prove a difficult task with the tactician said to be happy in London and under contract until 2025, but it is further claimed his stance could change if Arsenal fail to win the Premier League title this season.
