Iheanacho's future at Manchester City is believed to be uncertain after he fell down the pecking order under manager Pep Guardiola last season.
While there has been talk of the 20-year-old Super Eagles marksman being snapped up by another Premier League club, Adepoju, who represented La Liga sides Racing Santander and Real Sociedad, feels it is Spain where Iheanacho's future could lie.
"The Spanish league, La Liga, will not be a bad idea for Kelechi. The style suits him," Adepoju told Completesportsnigeria.
"Clubs like Valencia and Sevilla play the kind of football that he can fit in. They play in European competitions, especially Sevilla almost every other season, so that's a good one for him.
"So my opinion is that it will be nice if he considers the Spanish clubs.
"We have not had many Nigerian players in the La Liga, just a few, although te wages may not quite be the same as they receive in England," the former Nigeria international added.
Iheanacho featured in 20 league games for City last season, netting four goals. He started only five matches.
