Mamelodi Sundowns happy to help realise Keagan Dolly's dream

Following a number of complications, the Bafana Bafana winger was finally able to put pen to paper in a four-and-a-half-year deal with the French club on Friday evening, becoming the first South African player to sign for the club.

In 18 months with Sundowns, Dolly helped the Pretoria club lift the African Champions League‚ Absa Premiership and Telkom Knockout trophies, while also being nominated for the 2015/16 Absa Premiership Midfielder of the Season, Player's Player and Footballer of the season awards.

With his dream of plying his trade in Europe, Sundowns re-iterated their stance of helping the 24-year-old achieve that following the finalisation of his switch to France.

“The President of Mamelodi Sundowns, Mr Patrice Motsepe gave us clear instructions to do everything possible to help Keagan Dolly realize his dream of playing in Europe,” Sundowns General Manager Sizwe Nzimande was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.

“I often had to ignore the false and irresponsible statements by Keagan’s agent, Paul Mitchell which would have frustrated the transfer. The President is very proud of Keagan and wishes him everything of the very best.”

Montpellier were soundly beaten 5-1 by Olympique Marseille on Friday evening, leaving them winless in five games and 14th on the Ligue 1 standings.
