Barcelona 'react' to Man Utd bid for EURO 2024 star

Spanish giants Barcelona have now reportedly reacted to Manchester United's bid for their 2024 UEFA European Championship star.

Midfielder Fermín Lopez collected 11 goals and one assist in 43 appearances across all competitions in his breakout season for the Blaugrana in the 2023/24 campaign, effectively leading to a Spain call-up for the continental showpiece in Germany.

The 21-year-old's exploits have seemingly also caught the attention of the Red Devils, who are understood to have submitted a bid of £25 million (around R573 million) to attempt to sway the Catalan giants into letting go of the starlet.

However, according to SPORT, the Blaugrana are only prepared to sell the player if an "irrefutable" offer comes about, and with it believed that United's offer is far from that, it is claimed it was swiftly rejected.

Although, the player has made his feelings on the matter clear. Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, the player expressed a desire to remain at the Camp Nou for a long time to come.

"I'd be happy to sign new deal at Barca," said Lopez who is contracted with the club until 2027.

"This club is my dream since I was a kid. I hope to stay at Barcelona for many years.

"It's my clear wish."

Lopez will be hoping to accumulate some game time with La Furia Roja when Luis de la Fuente's side take on Italy on Thursday night, having failed to make it off the bench for their EURO 2024 opener against Croatia, which they won 3-0 on Saturday.
