Barca set up Super Cup final with rivals Real

FC Barcelona set up a Spanish Super Cup final date with Real Madrid following a 2-0 victory against Osasuna on Thursday night.

Alejandro Balde, Sergi Roberto, Illkay Gundogan and Robert Lewandowski came into the Catalan's line-up following the side's Copa del Rey win a few days ago.

The Catalan giants should have been ahead after 13 minutes when Lewandowski was slipped through on goal but the striker could only fire straight at goalkeeper Sergio Herrera in the box.

The poor finishing continued for the league champions as a neat passing move ended with Roberto pulling the back for Gundogan, who sent his effort horribly wide of the mark from close range.

Barcelona's plans in the first half had to be shift a bit as the influential Raphinha was forced with an injury and went straight down the tunnel. The higly-rated Lamine Yamal was introduced by Xavi Hernandez.

The Catalan side continued to dominate in the second half but had to wait until the 60th minute for the opening goal when Gundogan did well to play in Lewandowski, who made no mistake this time with a lovely finish.

Osasuna looked to their bench with 25 minutes to play, with Raul Garcia and Jon Moncayola replacing Iker Munoz and Jose Arnaiz as they pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages.

Jagoba Arrasate's charges nearly got their reward in the 78th minute through Budimir's individual effort, but Barcelona goalkeeper Inaki Pena was well-positioned to deal with the strike.

Barcelona made the game safe in second-half stoppage time courtesy of a strike from the young Lamal, which will see the side come up against Los Blancos in a repeat of last season's final.
