PSG boss makes big 'request' to Mbappe ahead of exit

With Kylian Mbappe said to have finally informed Paris Saint-Germain he will leave the club at the end of the season, the French giants have reportedly made a big request to the 25-year-old ahead of his exit.

On Thursday evening, news broke that the French superstar had finally made a long-awaited decision regarding his future, reportedly telling PSG that he will not renew his contract with them.

Real Madrid are thought to be the favourites for his signature, with it said they have already submitted a formal offer to the player's camp, which reportedly includes reduced terms from their previous bids for him.

Now, according to The Athletic, Mbappe's decision was actually communicated to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi during a meeting on Tuesday.

It is said that both football and personal affairs were discussed, and that the Qatari chief laid out a big request for the Les Bleus talisman.

Al-Khelaifi is reported to have asked Mbappe to either make financial sacrifices or share part of the signing-on bonus paid to him by his new club when he leaves, which PSG expect will be Los Blancos.

Speculation suggests that the signing-on fee the Les Bleus captain could be in line to receive from the Spanish giants is as much as €120 million (R2.5 billion).

Both Liverpool and Arsenal have both been mooted as clubs with an outside shout of signing Mbappe.

Meanwhile, a number of Real players have been talking about the forward's potential arrival in Madrid, with Aurelien Tchouameni stating earlier this week: "Mbappe to Real Madrid? He hasn't told me anything, and even if he did, I wouldn't tell you," he told Canal Plus.

"We talk about it in the dressing room because it's an important topic. We hope that things will settle down in the coming weeks."

Brazilian forward Rodrygo also recently said: "I would love Mbappe to come. I always want to play with the best players and he's one of the best in the world. I can't talk much about him. He's a PSG player and I have to respect him."
