It is understood the Red Devils have activated a break clause in their agreement with the London club, cutting the Spaniard's time at Old Trafford midway through the initial duration of the loan.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano further reports that the fullback is expected to leave Spurs again during the current window as he wants regular game time.
It is said that loan options are being considered, with there being interest from other clubs in the Premier League, while Borussia Dortmund are also believed to have added the 27-year-old to their list of potential signings.
Reguilon has made just 12 appearances in the United shirt, earning an underwhelming four starts in the Premier League.
He arrived in Manchester in September 2023 as an emergency signing and a back-up option to Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw, who were both injured at the time.
Shaw has since returned to the pitch, while the former remains out of action.
