With a move to sign Inter Milan star Andre Onana gathering steam, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is now said to be targeting another African star.
The Red Devils have been linked with a number of African superstars in recent weeks, including Morocco's Sofyan Amrabat, Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen, and Cameroon goalkeeper Onana.

However, none of their transfer attempts have yielded a significant result, with the club yet to complete a signing in this window.
With an imminent takeover also pending, Ten Hag is said to be desperate to get their first acquisition through the door early in order to plan for his second season in charge at Old Trafford.
Having signed Brazilian winger Antony and Argentine centre-back Lisandro Martinez in his first campaign at the helm, and said to be close to agreeing a deal for Onana, it is now being reported that the Dutch boss is targeting another one of his former Ajax Amsterdam stars to sign.
According to ESPN, the Manchester club is plotting a move to sign Ajax sensation Mohammed Kudus.
The Ghana star has seen his stock rise over the past year, and registered 18 goals and seven assists in 42 games in all competitions for the Eredivisie giants in 2022/23 campaign.
His impressive display at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, during which he registered two goals in three games for the Black Stars, piqued the interest of a number of top European teams too, with Chelsea and Brighton Hove Albion also rumoured to be keen on him.
The 22-year-old's agent, Jennifer Mendelewitsch, recently confirmed her client's desire to leave the Eredivisie club.
"I think it is best for both Ajax and Mohammed that he makes a transfer now," she said, according to De Telegraaf,
"Now is the right time. He has ignored a proposal to extend his contract until the summer of 2026.
"What I can say is that after the World Cup and this season, there is a lot of interest in Kudus."
