A former Manchester United manager has opened the door to a potential return to the club amid the intense pressure on Erik ten Hag.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who took charge of the Red Devils between 2019 and 2021 after impressing as caretaker manager in the 2018/19 campaign, has publicly expressed a desire to once more return to the Old Trafford dugout.

This comes after the Dutch tactician currently in charge of the side saw his charges finish in eighth position on the league table last season, the club's lowest final position in the Premier League era.
While the team did win the FA Cup last term, a poor start to the current campaign looks to have overshadowed that achievement as pressure once more continues to mount on the former Ajax Amsterdam boss.
United are currently 11th on the EPL table, after losing two and drawing one of their five league games so far this season.
They are also coming off the back of a disappointing draw against Eredivisie outfit FC Twente in their opening UEFA Europa League encounter earlier this week.
Solskjaer, meanwhile, has not taken on another managerial role since parting ways with the Red Devils in 2021, but has now shed some light on the jobs he would be open to taking.
"If the family [United] asks, I would say yes, every day of the week," he said while answering questions at the Oslo Business Forum on Thursday, per the Mirror.
"It feels wrong to talk about jobs that other people have now, but I would say yes, of course."

The 51-year-old also revealed he would be interested in managing the Norway national team, with current coach Stale Solbakken expected to bow out of the role after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
"I am a proud Norwegian, and of course, if the question arises, when Stale decides to give up, I will happily engage in discussions," Solskjaer continued.
"I am a proud Norwegian and proud of where I come from."
