Manchester United have now reportedly lined up a top candidate to potentially take over from under-pressure manager Erik ten Hag.
Following a 3-3 draw with FC Porto in the UEFA Europa League last week and a Premier League encounter against Aston Villa that ended in a goalless draw on Sunday, speculation around the Dutch tactician's future at the club has ceased to vanish.

The Red Devils' latest results has contributed to what many perceive as an underwhelming beginning to the 2024/25 campaign.
The side currently find themselves 14th on the league table after winning just two of the seven EPL matches they have played so far this season.
It has thus been suggested that the former Ajax Amsterdam boss' position in the Old Trafford dugout is uncertain, with it also being said that he expects to hold discussions with United's hierarchy in the coming days.
Club officials, meanwhile, are expected to hold a meeting in London this week regarding the matter.
As such, former Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel has been identified as a potential replacement for the Dutchman, according to Manchester Evening News.
It is believed the Premier League giants held discussions with the German tactician for the job at the end of last season, but they ultimately decided to trigger the one-year extension option in Ten Hag's contract that would keep him at the Theatre of Dreams until 2026.
Now, however, with the Red Devils having managed to score just five goals in seven Premier League games – only 19th-placed Southampton have managed fewer – the situation has seemingly changed.
United's executives are said to admire other coaches who are already tied down at other clubs, making the Tuchel option "attractive" as he has been out of work since departing Bayern at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

The 51-year-old would come with EPL experience too, having managed Chelsea from January 2021 to September 2022, leading them to a UEFA Champions League title, a FIFA Club World Cup triumph as well as an FA Cup final.
