Manchester United have now reportedly expressed an interest in signing a certain Paris Saint-Germain star.
The Red Devils suffered a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend, once again raising questions over the strength of their midfield after opposition duo Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma put on a dominant display against them.

It is no secret that United are looking to reinforce that area of their squad, with Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat believed to the missing piece for manager Erik ten Hag in order to have a highly capable side this season.
The club reportedly needs to act fast to sign the Moroccan, though, as it has been reported that Liverpool are making ground on the defensive playmaker.
However, it appears the Manchester side is now looking at a different profile of a midfielder, with reports claiming they have turned their sights to a PSG star.
According to L'Equipe, the English giants have now expressed an interest in signing Marco Verratti from the reigning French champions.
It is said new Les Parisiens boss Luis Enrique does not consider the Italian a part of his plans for this season, despite the player having been a mainstay in the team since joining the club back in 2012.
The 30-year-old is thus free to leave the Parc des Princes and was reportedly informed of this decision by Enrique and sporting advisor Luis Campos.
There is no shortage of interest in his services, however, with Saudi outfit Al Ahli having agreed terms in principle with the player, although no fee has been agreed between the two clubs.
This is said to have opened the door for United to pounce, with the French newspaper indicating that a move to Old Trafford "cannot be ruled out", although it is further stated that Bayern Munich are also interested in snapping him up.
PSG reportedly expect a fee in the region of £51 million (R1.2 billion) for Verratti, but United will be hoping to acquire his services for less.

The Italy international currently earns £238 000 (R5.8 million) a week in Paris, with it believed a package of £300 000 (R7.2 million) weekly could convince him to move to the Premier League.
