Man Utd star warned about 'mocking' opponents

A Manchester United star has been warned against mocking his opponents during matches, as it could result in players kicking "the s***" out of him.

Former Red Devils forward Dimitar Berbatov has advised that Brazilian international Antony should correct parts of his style of play as it could cause his serious problems in future.

The winger joined side from Ajax Amsterdam at the beginning of the season for a fee of €95 million (R1.8 billion), making him the second most-expensive signing in the history of the club since Paul Pogba in 2016.

However, the 23-year-old has drawn fierce criticism for his flamboyant style of play from various pundits and United legends alike, including Roy Keane, who insisted that attacker will "learn the hard way", per ITV Sport.

Speaking to Betfred this week, Berbatov shared the same sentiments as Keane, warning that Antony needs to remove the tricks from his game.

"I think he's been a good signing. However in my eyes, he does sometimes get deserved criticism because he shows off on the pitch and he tries to make the opposition look foolish in a negative way.

"Sometimes his trickery provides nothing for the team and if he can eradicate these negative elements of his game then it will greatly improve his impact on the team.

"However, if you mock your opponent then they're going to kick the sh*t out of you and you're not going to have the respect of the players you're playing against.

"If he can remove these traits, then he can improve a lot more because he's a great talent with great qualities and he scores great goals as well.

"His problem is that he can p*ss people off and he needs to correct this."
