Headache: Man Utd's injury list grows

Another name has been added to Manchester United's injury list a week before the Community Shield against city rivals Manchester City.

The Red Devils have had a mixed pre-season with regards to results and injuries in the last few weeks.

New signing Lenny Yoro picked up an injury in the defeat to Arsenal and is expected to be back in October, while striker Rasmus Hojlund is expected to miss six weeks after getting injured in the same game.

Erik ten Hag's charges ended their pre-season tour of United States with a 3-0 loss to fierce rivals Liverpool on Saturday and there was another casualty.

Young defender Will Fish was stretchered off in the second half, despite replacing veteran defender Jonny Evans who was hauled off at halftime.

"Always, we have to see what has gone on. The assessment, of course, with Will Fish is it's an impact injury," Ten Hag told MUTV.

"We also had to sub Jonny Evans at half-time because he was ill. Victor Lindelof [was] a precaution.

"So, yeah, there are some injuries, but we have to see how bad it will be."

The Red Devils face the Premier League champions next weekend but will do so without Yoro, Hojlund, Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw.

City, meanwhile, finished their pre-season in America with a 4-2 thrashing of rivals Chelsea on Saturday, with Erling Haaland bagging a hat-trick.
