OFFICIAL: EPL confirms decision change on Bruno ban!

The Premier League has confirmed a new decision regarding the ban Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes recently received.

It has been a difficult past few days for United after their comprehensive 3-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

By all accounts, it was a disastrous first half for the Red Devils, who were 2-0 down and a man short at the break.

Captain Fernandes was controversially shown a straight red card by referee Chris Kavanagh following a tackle on Spurs' James Maddison.

The United skipper appeared to slip before making a desperate attempt to touch the ball, but ended up catching his opponent high on the ankle.

VAR referee John Brooks did not overturn the red card decision at the time, with Fernandes' match coming to a disappointing end after just 42 minutes of play.

With United having appealed the decision, however, it has since been overturned, with the playmaker no longer having to serve a three-game suspension.

A statement issued by the English FA reads: "Bruno Fernandes will be available for Manchester United's next three games following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal."

The 30-year-old thus avoids a ban, making him available for United's next three Premier League games against Aston Villa, Brentford and West Ham United.

Fernandes was left incensed by the initial decision, and claimed that Maddison himself said it wasn't a red card.

"I think, in the eyes of everyone, you can see that is never a red card, because if this is a red card I think we have to look at many other incidents," Fernandes said after the match, according to ESPN.
