Reports claim the five-time Ballon d'Or has also been forced to train with the Under-21 side after his actions this week, putting his future at the club in doubt.

Ronaldo's contract expires at the end of the current season, but publication Inews, as cited by Manchester Evening News, have reported that United are now considering tearing up his contract if they do not get an offer during the January transfer window.

Ronaldo did reportedly want to leave Old Trafford in the last transfer window, but nothing had materalised and ultimately stayed at the club.

The former Real Madrid star was linked with Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Sporting Lisbon and Chelsea in recent months but it remains to be seen if any of those teams would be keen on his services.
