Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag blocked the club from signing a certain Argentine World Cup winner last season.
The Red Devils were in the market for a new goalkeeper after David de Gea's contract with the club expired at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
The club ended up signing Cameroon international Andre Onana from Ajax Amsterdam, although he did not enjoy a good start to life at Old Trafford after a number of handling errors.

Things might have been different if the club had signed Argentina's first choice Emiliano Martinez before the start of the season, according to the player's agent.
"Today he is in one of the best projects,' Goni told ESPN.
"Last year he was very close to Manchester United , the coach opted for Onana, because he already knew him.
"But everyone at Manchester United later maintained that the ideal goalkeeper to win was Emiliano Martínez."

Martinez was once again at his best in the Copa America this week after pulling off two saves in a penalty shoot-out win over Ecuador.
"I dive 500 times a day in every training session to be able to perform," an emotional Martínez said.
"I work for this, I always try to be at my best level to give everything for this national team."
