Another Real Madrid star to join Man Utd?

Manchester United are now reportedly considering making a move to sign yet another Real Madrid star.

Deals between the two clubs have become a familiar sight in recent seasons, after the English giants signed Raphael Varane in 2021 and Casemiro last year.

A new report has now claimed that the Red Devils could lure another Los Blancos player to Old Trafford for the third successive season, with manager Erik ten Hag said to be optimistic about seeing the deal through.

According to TEAMtalk, United are weighing up a move for versatile Los Blancos star David Alaba, and are willing to spend €40 million (R810 million) to secure his signature.

The Austria national team captain arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu on a free contract in July 2021 after parting ways with Bayern Munich. He signed a five-year contract with the Spanish giants, but it is believed Real are tempted to cash in on him just two seasons into his spell in LALIGA.

It is said the 31-year-old is also seduced by the prospect of playing for United and in the Premier League after achieving great success in Germany and Spain, while it has also been claimed that Alaba is unsettled at Real and understands that manager Carlo Ancelotti cannot make him any guarantees regarding game time in the seasons ahead.

As a result, he is said to have already contacted the decision-makers up top to express his desire to go elsewhere if an opportunity presents itself.

United's quest to make more defensive reinforcements reportedly hinges on Harry Maguire's likely departure from Old Trafford after he was officially stripped of the club captaincy on Sunday.
