Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti boss has now revealed why his side decided against signing one of Africa's top talents.

Helping them do so was the side's new-found hero Jude Bellingham, who bagged 23 goals and 13 assists in 42 games across all competitions, marking a memorable debut season in Spain.
If things had gone a little bit differently, this may not have been the case. According to Ancelotti, the side had the option of signing Nigerian star Victor Osimhen or the Englishman, who ended up joining the club.
It is believed that the Spanish giants were in search of a potential replacement for Karim Benzema who had left the Santiago Bernabeu to join Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad.
The former Chelsea boss was speaking to Radio Serie A, per Area Napoli, when he stated that the void left by the Frenchman could be filled by the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder.
The manager was asked about Real's interest in the Super Eagles star and replied: "No, because I think the club thought that Benzema's absence could be remedied by purchasing Bellingham."
Gli Azzurri won their first league title in 33 years towards the end of the 2022/23 campaign, and the side's former boss explained how acquiring Osimhen helped them become Italian champions once more.
The Nigerian striker was instrumental during the season, registering 26 goals and five assists in 32 league appearances.
"They [Napoli] made a strong generational change, managing to buy important players, especially one of the strongest strikers in Europe, Osimhen. And this radical change allowed them to win," he said.
