A former PSL coach has revealed why he believes his countryman Eden Hazard flopped at Real Madrid.
Hazard's move from Chelsea to Los Blancos in July 2019 is widely considered to be one of the worst transfers in the history of the sport.
The now-retired attacker arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu for a club-record fee of €120.8 million (R2.4 billion), but he would spectacularly fail to justify his lofty price tag after playing just 76 matches in four seasons.

It was extensively reported that injuries, fitness issues and competition for place were among the reasons Hazard failed to live up to expectations in Spain, which ultimately prompted the player to retire from professional football in October 2023 despite having a season remaining on his Real contract.
Former Free State Stars and Black Leopards boss Luc Eymael has now claimed that Hazard lacked the motivation to succeed in Madrid.

"Why Eden stopped his career and why he didn't do well at Real Madrid, first of all, I think that Real Madrid was too big for Hazard, and I think his motivation was less high than when he was at Chelsea," Eymael told SportsBoom.
"Hazard has always been a very talented player, but he is a player that is not like Cristiano, like these types of players, like Ibrahimovic or even Olivier (Giroud), these guys here are a bit old, but these players are very disciplined in matters of urging of life and in matters of training."
It was also recently reported that Chelsea had scored £5 million (R118 million) from Real due to the Spanish giants reaching the final of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League.
According to talkSPORT, this is because there was a performance related add-on that was included in Hazard's initial contract, which would've have expired at the end of this month.
