A former Premier League manager has suggested that newly-signed Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe is miles away from Cristiano Ronaldo's and Lionel Messi's level.
With the 2024 UEFA European Championship set to kick off later this month, ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has suggested that one of England's stars are more likely to receive the Player of the Tournament award than the Frenchman.

He went on to explain how he believes that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner shows signs of inconsistency, being a standout performer in one match and absent during the next.
"Kylian Mbappe is a real talent but when it comes to the Player of the Tournament, I'd rather side with one of the England players," Redknapp said while speaking to BetVictor per GOAL.
"Mbappe is hot and cold. He can be the best player on the pitch in one game then you might not see anything of him in the next.
"He is a great player but I still wouldn't put him in the same bracket as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. He is miles away from being what those two have been for the last 15 years.
"I can see why he's favourite for the Player of the Tournament award, but I'd rather be backing one of the England players like Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden."
The Three Lions will open their campaign with a group stage encounter against Serbia on Sunday, 16 June while Les Bleus will take on Austria just a day later.
Ronaldo, who won the tournament in 2016 will also be participating in the 2024 edition and is in the conversation, along with Mbappe, for possible Golden Boot winners.

Both players will be looking to carry their club form into the international competition, with the Portuguese star having scored 44 goals in 45 matches across all competitions for Al Nassr this campaign.
Mbappe, meanwhile, netted just as many goals, doing so in 48 matches in what was his last season with Paris Saint-Germain.
