Real Madrid 'reach agreement' with Man Utd target

Real Madrid have now reportedly agreed a deal to sign a certain Manchester United transfer target.

Following their blockbuster signing of Kylian Mbappe as a free agent, Los Blancos are now said to be continuing their quest to reinforce their squad amid some key departures that are expected.

Toni Kroos is guaranteed to leave following the announcement of his impending retirement after the 2024 UEFA European Championship.

Spanish defender Nacho and veteran playmaker Luka Modric could also soon leave the Santiago Bernabeu, with no new deals for them having been confirmed.

Furthermore, it is reported that 22-year-old Real defender Rafa Marin is also set to leave the club on a permanent transfer after he spent last season on loan at Deportivo Alaves, with a transfer to Napoli said to be close.

With Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger, and David Alaba being the only guaranteed central defensive options left in Carlo Ancelotti's squad next term, it is understood the club has made signing a new centre-back a priority.

As such, Marca are now reporting that Real have agreed personal terms with Lille defender Leny Yoro.

The 18-year-old is one of the most highly sought-after centre-backs in the world today, with both Liverpool and United reportedly interested in signing him too.

The report adds that Lille would want a fee between €50 million and €60 million (R970 million and R1.1 billion) for their French sensation, despite the fact that the player's current deal expires in June 2025.

The Spanish giants are said to be yet to open talks with the Ligue 1 club, but it is noted that their intention is to pay no more than €40 million for Yoro's services, so it remains to be seen if the transfer will materialise.
