Serie A giants AC Milan have completed the signing of former Croatia international striker Mario Mandžukic on a free transfer.
Mandžukic (34) has been a free agent since leaving Qatari side Al-Duhail in July last year and joins Milan on an initial six month deal, with the club retaining the option to extend his stay by a further year.
"AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Mario Mandžukic," the current league leaders said in an official statement. "The Club and the striker have agreed on a deal until the end of the current season with an option to extend the contract for the next one."
Mandžukic previously featured in the Serie A with rivals Juventus where he scored 31 goals in 118 league appearances, prior to which he enjoyed spells with the likes of Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.
The club has confirmed that two-time Croatian Footballer of the Year will wear the No. 9 jersey this season and is set to partner fellow veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack as Stefano Pioli's side goes in pursuit of a first league title since 2011.
