Roma give Mourinho 'ultimatum' amid poor form

AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly been given an ultimatum by the club after their poor form.

The Rome outfit have only won one of their last five matches in Serie A, leaving the side four points adrift of the top four.

Mourinho's charges were also dumped out of the Coppa Italia  this week after losing 1-0 to arch-rivals Lazio.

Italian journalist  Francesco Balzani has reported that Mourinho has been given one month to turn things around and get the side back in the top four.

Mourinho's contract with the Italian outfit expires at the end of the current season, but he is reportedly unlikely to get an extension if results do not go his way.

The reports adds that club legend Daniele de Rossi is being considered a replacement on an interim basis should Mourinho get the sack.

Roma face AC Milan on Sunday night and Mourinho spoke about his professionalism amid claims the club growing frustrated.

"I've been here for two years and five months and I'm the only person here who hasn't missed a single training session in that time," Mourinho said, as per ESPN.

"For me there are no illnesses or bad moods. For two and a half years I haven't done anything wrong, not even a couple of weeks ago when everyone was sick.

"I do not accept in any way that my professionalism and dignity, my heart for this job, can be questioned. If there is a perfect example of professionalism, it is me. I have never missed one match in over 20 years of my career."
