Cristiano Ronaldo has written his name onto yet another page in the history books after becoming football's greatest goalscorer of all time.
The Portuguese superstar climbed to the top of football's all-time goalscoring charts on Wednesday when he netted the 760th goal of his career, taking him one strike clear of the believed record previously held by Austrian great Josef Bican.

His effort, which came in the form of a 64th-minute opener in Juventus' 2-0 Italian Super Cup triumph over Napoli, saw him surpass the Slavia Prague legend for overall goals for club and country, although question marks remain over the accuracy of the statistics.
This is the case because incomplete records from the early-to-mid 1900s make it impossible to be certain of the overall tallies of players such as Bican and Ferenc Puskás, but the Bianconeri star is widely believed to have climbed to the summit with his incredible tally.
The 35-year-old's total is broken up into 658 club goals across spells with Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juve, and a further 102 strikes for his national team Portugal, which is also a record for a European player on the international stage.
He scored the first two goals of his career on 7 October 2002 on his senior debut for Sporting against Moreirense, before later enjoying a career-best return of 61 goals in 54 matches during the 2014/15 LaLiga campaign with Los Blancos.
