Francesco Totti endured a tearful exit from AS Roma after 30-years at the club but their recent billionaire takeover could evoke a dramatic change in circumstances for the legendary figure.
Totti departed his boyhood club whom he remained faithful towards over his entire professional career despite his standing as one of Italy's greatest ever footballers.

The 2006 FIFA World Cup winner snubbed the like of Juventus, Internazionale, AC Milan and Real Madrid over his distinguished career and later moved into a director role upon retirement after scoring 307 goals in 785 games.
"This is far worse than retiring as a player. Leaving Roma is like dying. I feel like it'd be better if I died," he said when announcing his decision due to board room politics within the hierarchy.

However, the Giallorossi have now been sold to United States billionaire Dan Friedkin in a deal worth $701-million (R12-billion) and Totti is said to have been contacted to for homecoming ahead of the new campaign.
According to Goal, the Italian's return will be confirmed in the coming days, as he looks to lead the club towards a bright new era and challenge the dominance of Juventus in the Italian top-flight.
