Bafana Bafana tackle Cape Verde in a keenly awaited 2023 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash at the Charles Konan Banny on Saturday night.
It's been a successful week for the 1996 winners following the 2-0 win over Morocco in the last 16 in San Pedro on Tuesday.
The Blue Sharks, who topped their group ahead of the fancied Egypt and Ghana, needed a gutsy display to get over the line against Mauritania.
Now this won't be the first-ever appearance in the quarter-finals for either nation, as the Blue Sharks featured in this stage in the 2013 tournament hosted by South Africa.
The latter's participation at this phase of the continent's flagship even was just five years in Egypt where they lost to Nigeria.
Moreover, this will be the second meeting between the two nations in the competition after the goalless draw in the tournament opener back in 2013.
Bafana will look to avenge the back-to-back losses the Blue Sharks inflicted on them in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, effectively ending the former's quest.
Kick-off is at 22h00.
Confirmed line-ups:
Cape Verde: Dias, Lopes, Costa, Cabral, Fernandes, Alvarenga, Rodrigues, Santos, Mendes, Moreira, De Pina.
South Africa: Williams, Mudau, Kekana, Mvala, Modiba, Mokoena, Sithole, Morena, Zwane, Tau, Makgopa
Subs: Mothwa, Goss, Mobbie, Mashego, Xulu, Appollis, Adams, Maseko, Monare, Lepasa, Sibisi, Mayambela
