The Argentine ace was on target in Barca’s 2-1 win over Atheltic Bilbao on Saturday to keep his side’s treble hopes on track, netting his 58th goal in all competitions, and taking the club’s front trio of himself, Neymar and Suarez to 120 goals for the season.
Messi feels the Champions League Final is a different test altogether however, as the Spanish giants come up against a solid and well-organised Juventus outfit.
"The anthem lets you know that it is a different game, a special game for the competition it is," Messi told Uefa.
"It is a Champions League final and we have suffered a lot to get here. We know that it won't be easy to be champions again. We are playing against a very difficult and powerful opponent.
“It is a final where anything can happen, but we will prepare in the same way we did for the previous finals."
The Barca talisman has scored 20 goals in 23 finals he has played in across all competitions, and is aiming to become the first player to score in three separate Champions League finals.
Reflecting on his club’s European victories in 2009 and 2011, Messi acknowledged that scoring in those finals made those matches even more memorable, and hopes to add to his impressive tally on Saturday.
"They are very significant parts of my career,” he said. “The first one because we practically finished the game and were lifting the cup at 2-0. The second one because it made it 2-1 at a point where the game was well-balanced and that is why I celebrated so wildly.
"They were two very significant goals for me."
Kick off at the Olympiastadion in Berlin is scheduled for 20:45.
