Pep issues Haaland warning to Real Madrid

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has issued a warning to Real Madrid after Erling Haaland was kept quiet by Antonio Rudiger in the first leg.

The two sides head into Wednesday's second leg at the Etihad with the tie evenly poised at 1-1 , after Vinicius Junior and Kevin de Bruyne traded wonderful goals.

Haaland, however, had a quiet evening at the Santiago Bernabeu and had quite a battle with former Chelsea defender Rudiger, who came in for the injured Eder Militao.

Guardiola has warned Los Blancos to expect a different Haaland when the second leg roles around this week.

"So congratulations to Rudiger. For Erling, we cannot forget, at 22 years old it is the first time he has played in the semi-finals of the Champions League," Guardiola said, as per the Mirror.

"For the first time to go to the Bernabeu, one of the biggest stages, Real Madrid are a top, top class club with good defenders, good midfielders, good strikers and next time will be a little bit easier.

"If the team is able to play a little bit better in some departments that we are thinking for Wednesday, maybe it will be easier for him.

"At the end it is what we are trying to do but he fought a lot and showed incredible commitment in what he had to do. I am pretty sure he is ready, first for Everton on Sunday and then the next games."
