Real or City? Inter reveal who they want in UCL final

With Inter Milan having qualified for the UEFA Champions League final, club vice-president Javier Zanetti has now revealed his team's preferred opponents between Manchester City and Real Madrid.

An eagerly-anticipated second-leg semi-final tie between City and Real sees the two sides level at 1-1 on aggregate, and their meeting at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night will decide who will face Inter in the final after the Italian outfit beat bitter rivals AC Milan 1-0 on Tuesday.

Their 3-0 aggregate victory confirmed the Nerazzurri's first appearance in a Champions League final since winning the competition in the 2009/10 season under Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho.

The decisive fixture on Wednesday will set Inter up in a final with either the tournament's most successful club in Los Blancos or the dominant English giants who are closing in on a fifth Premier League title in six seasons.

Inter chief Zanetti, who won the trophy in 2010 with the club, has revealed who he wants to see his team face at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul in Turkey on 10 June.

"I would like to avoid Real Madrid because this competition seems made for Real Madrid," the 49-year-old said, according to the Metro.

"But now it counts just being there. A derby in the semi-final is very tough, I experienced it as a defeated player."

Meanwhile, when asked who he would rather face, Inter striker Romelu Lukaku responded: "It doesn't matter. In this stage in your career, when you play finals, you know you're going to play the biggest teams.

"Man City are playing absolutely brilliant football. Pep Guardiola has a tactical plan for every game.

"Very different to the other teams in the Premier League because for every game there is a pattern of play, so sometimes they might aim for the second post, sometimes they aim for the near post, teams in the Premier League have difficulty adapting to that.

"Real Madrid they have two wingers who are absolute quality right now – Vinicius [Junior] and Rodrygo. They are becoming world-class players, [Federico] Valverde is coming through in midfield.

"I just want to see a good game to be honest, and then at the end of the day, may the best team win."
