FC Barcelona had to come from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Napoli to a 1-1 draw in the UEFA Europa League play-off first leg on Thursday evening.
Former Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made his first start for Barca and was accompanied by Adama Traore and Ferran Torres, while Victor Osimhen featured for Napoli.
A smart bit of play from Barca inside five minutes forced the visitors to concede possession and bring Pedri in attack, but the Spanish midfielder hoofed the resultant attempt.
Barcelona weren't deterred before the half-hour mark and continued to press when a cutback by Aubameyang picked out Torres, who blazed over.
The Catalans paid for their inefficiency a minute afterwards when a low strike from a tight angle by Piotr Zielinski forced Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to a save only for the forward to bundle in the rebound.
Barcelona were renewed in the second half and levelled on 59 minutes through a penalty from Torres after the pitch-side monitor intervened and flagged Juan Jesus for handling Traore's cross.
The were chances for Xavi Hernandez's men in time added on, as Luuk de Jong went over off an overhead kick before Torres slammed a square pass wide as it finished all square.
