UEFA Europa League wrap

Manchester United comfortably swept Club Brugge away with a 5-0 victory in the last 32 second-leg.

United went to the break three goals up courtesy of a penalty from Bruno Fernandes followed by efforts from Odion Ighalo and Scott McTominay

Brugge played the majority of the game with a man down following Sam Deli's 22th minute dismissal, whilst a late double from Fred granted the hosts a memorable night.

Last year's runners-up Arsenal bowed out of the tournament as a 2-1 defeat to Olympiacos ensured elimination on the away goals rule on Thursday evening.

The Greeks who lost the first-leg 1-0, took the match to extra time through Pape Cisse, before Pierre Emerick Aubameyang levelled matters in extra time.

However, the Greeks netted the winner through Youssef El-Arabi, as the Gunners bid farewell to the tournament.

Inter Milan advanced to the last 16 after recording a 2-1 second-leg win over Ludogorets in a game played behind closed doors due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Ludogorets surged ahead with a 26th minute finish from Cauly Souza. Inter went level through Cristiano Birgahi four minutes later before Romelu Lukaku netted the winner.

FC Copenhagen did the unthinkable in Glasgow with a late flurry 3-1 second-leg win over Celtic at Celtic Park.

After a goalless first half, the Danes took the lead through Michael Santos before Odsonne Edouard equalised from the spot.

Copenhagen then stole victory in the final five minutes through Pep Biel and Dame N'Doye for a 4-2 aggregate win.

Ajax Amsterdam overturned a 2-0 first-leg deficit for a 2-1 second-leg win over Getafe CF, though that wasn't enough to ensure a last 16 ticket.

Jaime Mata put Spaniards ahead after five minutes, but Danilo got the game all square five minutes later with Carel Eiting netting the winner midway in the second half, as Getafe march on.

Sevilla advanced to the last 16 following a goalless draw against CFR Cluj at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Sevilla, who were held to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture last Thursday, progress to the next phase on the away goal rule as Cluj saw Mihai Bordeianu dismissed in time added on.

Shakhtar Donetsk also confirmed their last 16 spot at the expense of Benfica following a 5-4 aggregate win after playing to a 3-3 draw in the second-leg.

Shakhtar, who won the first-leg 2-1, were behind early on through Pizzi before an own-goal from Ruben Dias got the side level.

Dias rectified just before halftime and Rafa Silva stretched their lead moments to the break, but Taras Stepanenko and Alan Patrick got the visitors level to ensure progression.
