After making history at the 2024 UEFA European Championship, an African coach has expressed his delight at representing the continent well at the showpiece in Germany.
Adel Chedli, a 2004 Africa Cup of Nations winner with Tunisia, has opened up about his experience at EURO 2024, where he served as the assistant coach to Georgia national team boss Willy Sagnol.

The Georgians made history in the tournament, reaching the round of 16 in their debut appearance in the competition before falling to Spain on Sunday.
Notably, their shock 2-0 win over Portugal in the final Group E game was their first-ever victory in the history of the showpiece, while Georgia striker Georges Mikautadze remains the tournament's joint-top goalscorer with three goals.
With Tunisian icon Chedli having been a contributing member of Georgia's historic display at EURO 2024, he has now opened up about representing Africa at Europe's elite international football tournament.

"My goal is to represent my country well, Tunisia, the African continent. I think that's something we did very well," said the former Raja Casablanca midfielder said, according to Afrik-Foot.
"It's very important to show a very good image of ourselves, I think that's something that was done.
"[On Sunday], we came up against a superb Spanish team; for me, they are the best team in the world. It was really difficult for us.
"I hope I have pleased the African people and the Tunisian people."
Asked about his prospects of coaching in Africa, Chedli added: "I am learning, and one day I will return to the African continent.
"I had always said that one day I would coach the Tunisian national team. But I am not leaving [Georgia] for the moment."

Chedli became assistant coach of Georgia in February 2021 as part of Sagnol's coaching staff, and has served in 38 matches to date under the former Bayern Munich star.
