'Annoying' Kane compared to Ronaldo

England captain Harry Kane has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo after his latest performance at the 2024 European Championship.

The Three Lions advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament after defeating Switzerland via the penalty shoot-out on Saturday night.

While Gareth Southgate's men did progress, Kane was once again not his usual self and was hauled off in the second half of extra-time.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O'Hara was not pleased with England skipper's performance on the night.

"He doesn't look fit, he's being lazy. He's really annoying me," O'Hara told talkSPORT.

"I'm worried that we've got a Ronaldo in the team, and that we have to play him."

Kane did not take a penalty in the shoot-out, but the Bayern Munich star insists he was prepared.

"Another tough game and first of all great resilience from the lads to turn it up again," Kane told BBC Sport.

"To get the goal, a fantastic finish from Bukayo Saka. Penalties are penalties, but I felt prepared - I was on the side, but I felt comfortable in the lads.

"Five out of five and a save from Picks [Jordan Pickford]!

"We trust in whoever is on the pitch and the difference this year compared to past years is we have proven penalty takers – we have a lot more experience and we showed it out there."
