Dolly to follow Billiat with troubles at Chiefs?

The emerging reports that Keagan Dolly has suffered another injury has left the Kaizer Chiefs superstar facing the possibility of following on Khama Billiat's path.

Billiat had an injury troubled last season at Chiefs that saw him fail to score in the 2022/23 campaign, which was the first time that he had gone without a goal all season in 13 years playing in the PSL.

With his contract also up at the end of June, Billiat failed to agree terms on a new deal.

Just like was the case with Billiat, Dolly is a top earner at Chiefs and into the last year of his contract and is going through his season with injury struggles.

Dolly has only played five games this season and missed 12.

The 30-year-old is without a goal this season and is going through his longest run without scoring.

Dolly last scored on April 1 against Stellenbosch and has since played another eight games without finding the back of the net.

Just like Billiat, Dolly has never had to go through a season without scoring while playing for a DStv Premiership club.

Whenever available for selection, Dolly is always in the matchday team at Chiefs but his dwindling fortunes at the club have already contributed to him slowly fizzling out of contention for a place in the national team.

Hugo Broos, the Bafana coach, last had Dolly in his team 20 months ago.
