An Al Ahly star has now made a shock claim about South African side Kaizer Chiefs when describing his encounter against them.
Red Devils midfielder Amr El Solia has reflected on the time the Egyptian giants beat Amakhosi by three goals to nil in the 2021 CAF Champions League final, which saw them being crowned champions.

Speaking on Egyptian TV show Koura on MBC Egypt 2 about the various CAFCL finals the team has played in in recent years, he said, per Kooora: "The current generation of players is the best in Al Ahly's history, and facing Kaizer Chiefs in the 2021 Champions League final is the easiest in my career."
The player also reflected on his side's continental triumph in 2020 – under the guidance of South African tactician Pitso Mosimane – when they beat bitter Egyptian rivals Zamalek 2-1.
That victory came after Ahly were dumped out of the tournament by Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-finals, which they lost 5-1 on aggregate, the year before.

An 86th minute strike by Mohamed "Afsha" Magdy secured that title for the Red Devils, and El Solia highlighted the role the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach played in motivating the side during the half-time interval, when the score was tied at 1-1.
"The importance of the match came because of what we were told that the winner of this match would be considered as if they had won everything in the competition between the two poles," he explained, per Kooora
"It was not possible for us to play football again if we lost to Zamalek.
"Between the two halves of the match, Mosimane and team captain Mohamed El Shenawy became angry with us due to the decline in performance, and I hoped that the referee of the match would end the match immediately after Afsha's goal so that we would win the title.
"We pledged to change the image and return to the titles after our defeat against Sundowns in the 2019 edition, and we succeeded in winning the Egyptian League title after that, and then we set out to win four African Champions League titles."
