Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Gaston Sirino could be close to joining Kaizer Chiefs, as what his signing will depend on has been revealed.
Sirino was among four players released by Sundowns ahead of the 2024/25 season, including Bongani Zungu, Thabiso Kutumela and Brian Onyango.
The 33-year-old has not played for any other club in the PSL since joining the Tshwane giants in January 2018 under their then head coach Pitso Mosimane.

The Uruguayan made a massive immediate impact but he struggled for game-time under co-coaches Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena, and later under Mokwena as sole head coach.
The pint-sized attacker appeared to have rubbed the club's management up the wrong way after openly showing admiration and the desire to join Al Ahly, hot on the heels of the Egyptian giants appointing Mosimane.
Given his quality, Chiefs supporters and legends have been recommending that the Glamour Boys bring Sirino on board.
Reports subsequently emerged that Amakhosi were interested but with indications that talks were yet to take place.
The Soweto giants' new head coach, Nasreddine Nabi, has now confirmed that Sirino is one of the players they are considering signing ahead of the new season.
He also revealed why they are to commit to Sirino's signature.
"Looking at the list you've given me, yes, they are part of the large list that we've put together and that we're busy looking at," Nabi said on SuperSport Blitz.
"For a case like Sirino, yes, he's a very well experienced player, we definitely wanna look at him. The thing is we wanna see if he's physically ready and he will add a plus into our philosophy," the Belgian-Tunisian mentor added, speaking via a translator.

The Soweto giants' squad showed a lack of depth during the 4-0 defeat to Young Africans in the pre-season Toyota Cup friendly, with only two signings confirmed, goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari and defender Rushwin Dortley.
Both did not feature.
