OFFICIAL: Rulani's Wydad confirm another signing!

Rulani Mokwena's Wydad Athletic Club have officially bolstered their squad by securing yet another signing.

The Red Castle have announced the signing of Moroccan left-back Zakaria Nassik, who recently terminated his contract with former club MAS Fes, according to El Botola.

The 27-year-old made 24 appearances during the course of the 2023/24 campaign, bagging four assists and helping his side to an 11th-place finish on the Botola Pro 1 table.

It is claimed rivals Raja Club Athletic were also interested in the player and even opened negotiations with him, but the side led by the South African managed to pip their rivals to the fullback's services.

Nassik will now join up with the three-time CAF Champions League winners' nine other new signings, a list that includes Hamza Sakhi, who arrived from Ligue 2 side AC Ajaccio, and Mohamed Moufid, who joined from new Kaizer Chiefs manager Nasreddine Nabi's ex-side AS FAR Rabat.

Wydad's latest signing comes after the club lost out on the services of attacker Cherki El Bahri, who is believed to have told Mokwena he was leaving the club due to not receiving money that was due to him.

The Moroccan outfit is currently facing a transfer ban that had been imposed on them by FIFA for a breach of contract with three former players.

However, club president Hicham Ait Menna is said to be working on a solution to settle all the side's outstanding debts in an attempt to get the ban lifted as soon as possible.
