Man Utd owner make admission about Ten Hag future

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made an admission about Erik ten Hag's future after the poor start to the season.

The Red Devils extended their winless run to four matches in all competitions following Thursday's 3-3 draw against FC Porto in the UEFA Europa League.

Ten Hag has been under pressure since the start of the season and with only two wins in the Premier League, there are certainly questions about his future at Old Trafford.

However, Ratcliffe has now admitted that he does not have the final say on Ten Hag's future.

"I think I don't want to answer that. I like Erik. He's a very good coach but at the end of the day it's not my call," he told BBC Sport.

"It's the management team that's running Manchester United that have to decide how we best run the team in many different respects. But that team that's running Manchester United has only been together since June or July.

"They weren't there in January, February, March or April – [CEO] Omar [Berrada], [sporting director] Dan Ashworth - they only arrived in July.

"They've only been there - you can count it in weeks almost - they've not been there a long time, so they need to take stock and make some sensible decisions."
