His surprising comments come just days after he was dropped from the squad that played against city rivals Manchester City on Sunday.
The 27-year-old has been facing a growing amount of criticism in recent months, with some, including pundit Jamie Carragher, accusing the player of not having the right attitude and often appearing uncommitted.
In addition to the criticism from the press and fans alike, it is believed that things behind the scenes have not been going well for Rashford, as the new manager Ruben Amorim is yet to be convinced by the Englishman.
It has since been reported that Rashford did not fully train on Monday, as he was sent home from Carrington due to illness, according to the Daily Express.
The report claims that the attacker made a quick recovery but there was no training on Tuesday, as it was the team's rest day.
Rashford was then spotted at his old primary school, Button Lane, that same day, where he is said to have brought over 400 Christmas gifts for the pupils.
This is also where he had an interview with journalist Henry Winter, during which he revealed that he no longer wants to be at United.
"For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps," Rashford said.
"When I leave, it's going to be 'no hard feelings'. You're not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That's me as a person."
