Bobsteak to Chiefs fans: Watch the space

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has finally commented on the club's position in the current transfer window.

The Khosi Nation has been vocal in their criticism of the club's management for being slow in recent transfer window periods.

They have often accused the hierarchy at Naturena of allowing rival clubs, such as Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, to sign the best players in South Africa.

Despite being the most successful club in the history of South African football, Chiefs have struggled both in the transfer market and on the pitch in recent years, having not won a trophy since 2015.

Frequent changes in coaching staff have failed to restore the side's former glory.

Last season, their fans faced disappointment when the team finished outside the Top Eight.

On Sunday, the fanbase was in for yet more frustration as they watched their frontline squander chance after chance against Golden Arrows, eventually losing 1-0 at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Although Motaung was not as forthcoming as supporters would have hoped, he did offer a glimmer of hope when asked by this website about the club's plans for the current transfer window, particularly regarding their goalscoring issues.

"It's not yet the right time to speak about it, but watch the space, things will come right," Motaung told KickOff.com on Monday morning.

Currently, Amakhosi sit in sixth place on the table, having collected 18 points from 13 matches.

They are being linked with Bafana Bafana star Oswin Appollis, among other players, while DStv Diski Challenge goal poacher Naledi Hlongwane, who scored twice during the 4-1 victory over TS Galaxy, is expected to be promoted to the senior team.
