Financial details of Dino Ndlovu’s last contract abroad

Former Bafana Bafana striker Dino Ndlovu's last contract overseas is out after he took up his claim for an unpaid salary with FIFA last year.

That deal was with Turkish Second Division club Sakaryaspor – the 14th club he played for throughout his career, which started in South Africa and took him to Israel, Cyprus, China, Azerbaijan, and Turkey.

The details of the contract are contained in the labour dispute filed by Ndlovu at the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber.

The monthly salary was 16350 Euro (approx. R317 000), which added up to 179850 Euro (approx. R3,5 million) for the 11 months agreement starting from August 1, 2023.

Beyond the monthly earnings, Ndlovu was to get 40150 Euro (R778 000) in cash in three instalments in July and August 2023.

This put his annual package at just under R4,3 million at the club based in the town of Adazapari.

The best earners at the Big Three are on packages above R4,3 million.

Ndlovu – who turns 35 this month – played 20 games and scored six goals as Sakaryaspor finished third during the regular season and then lost in the promotion play-offs final for that season.

"Furthermore, Clause 3 of the Contract also provided the following:

"In the case where the Euro costs up to over 30 TL compared to the Turkish Lira, the payments will be set at 1 EUR = 30 TL, and the salary will be also calculated and paid in EUR, however, not to exceed than 490.500 TL (approx. R254 000)," reads the agreement.

Ndlovu then filed for breach of contract at FIFA on July 18, 2024, claiming one-month unpaid salary.

The claim was accepted with the club ordered to pay 13931 Euro (approx. R270 000) with 5% interest per annum as of July 1, 2024, until the date of effective payment.

This season, Sakaryaspor are languishing in the bottom half past the halfway stage of the Turkish Second Division.

Ndlovu is without a club.
