FUSA credits SAFA for Bafana's good run

The Football Union of South Africa has applauded SAFA for making sure they ironed out all the bonus issues before they even left the country.

FUSA Secretary General Taelo Motloung says the player's performance in the recently concluded AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast, proved there was a good relationship going on behind the scenes between the two parties.

"These boys did a fantastic job, our pride is back, players just need to get what they've been promised," Motloung tells KickOff.

"I believe it will happen because it is something they agreed on before they even left the country. I believe there's an agreement in place and it needs to be honoured, that's it. The players have made the nation proud.

"We had a team that could have easily gone to the final. It was a very balanced team, even though not everyone believed in them. We are also happy with the coach in the manner in which he puts his foot on the ground. He was so confident in his team. He never doubted the player."

"Players are happy with the coach, he gave every player a chance to play, it's only the goalkeepers that didn't get a run. SAFA as a mother body also has to be given credit for making sure they solve the contract issue.

"It made players understand very clearly how much they were going to play for. This is how things must be done. It avoids disruptions during a tournament. It makes them focus on their job."
