Four candidates have been shortlisted for the position, which has been filled by interim coach Desiree Ellis since the departure of Vera Pauw after last year's Rio Olympics.
The successful applicant will start their tenure by preparing Banyana for the Women COSAFA Cup, taking place in Zimbabwe from September 13-24.
“What the committee [tasked with appointing the Banyana coach] reaffirmed is that only the best candidate should preside over our senior women’s national team,” said SAFA president Danny Jordaan.
“We had to go through a massive list of candidates who applied from all over the world and we should be in a position to name the new Banyana Banyana coach in the next 14 days."
