CAF Women's Champions League match report Mamelodi Sundowns v FAR Rabat 12 November 2021

Masandawana recalled regular goalkeeper Andile Dlamini from the win over Rivers Angels, whilst ASFAR came up with an unchanged starting eleven from their last encounter.

Sundowns launched the first probe ten minutes on the clock after a free-kick from outside the area by Boitumelo Rabale clattered off the top of the crossbar with the opposite number well beaten.

ASFAR's confidence began to grow within the midway mark and saw a promising shot off Sanaa Mssoudy after cutting inside from the left go on to beat against the top of the net.

The Brazilians continued to see worrying signs as another piece of exciting footwork from ASFAR led to further chances in and around the six-yard area but regardless it remained goalless.

ASFAR asserted the same energy into the second half, with the Brazilians starved off the ball and kept to a premium in both defence and attack by Mssoudy and company.

The Moroccan outfit's dominance were highlighted following the middle point after Ghizlane Chebbak clattered a low ball from a tight angle off a short free-kick against the post.

Sundowns ladies began to found their own again late in the half and brought attacker Nhlanhla Mthandi in with a chance from a decent position but the effort was thwarted.

Movement from the Brazilians substitutes bench seven minutes from time saw Andisiwe Ngcoyi replaced by Sizanda Komane.

However, the match finished goalless as both the Sundowns and ASFAR advanced to the knockout stages of the tournament.
