Sundowns backed to top CAF Champions League group

Mamelodi Sundowns legend Roger Feutmba has backed his former club to top their CAF Champions League group.

On Tuesday, Sundowns discovered were drawn in Group A alongside Pitso Mosimane's Al Ahly and two Sudanese sides, Al Hilal and Al Merreikh SC.

"Yes, they do stand a chance even though the group is tough with teams like Al Ahly in it," Feutmba tells KickOff.

"But I think Sundowns do have what it takes to get out of the group.

"Football is not only about talent, but it's also about character, and I believe they have many players with lots of strong characters.

"They just have to keep focus, minimise their mistakes and I can see them sitting top of their group.

"At this level of competition, I can say these other three teams are also worried about Sundowns.

"We must give respect to all those teams that are involved, for them to reach this stage, means they have quality.

"For Sundowns, it's not all about Al Ahly, they need to make sure that they dominate and win all their games.

"When I say respect, I don't mean fear."
