Orlando Pirates midfielder Oupa Manyisa out of Al-Ahly Confederation Cup semi-final

Manyisa got injured during Pirates’ goalless draw against Polokwane City on Wednesday night at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The 27-year-old was taken to hospital last night where it was revealed that the Bafana Bafana midfielder has suffered an ankle fracture and according to team doctor, Lazarus Maphakela, Manyisa will go see a specialist upon the team’s return from Polokwane today.

“Clinical examination revealed swelling and limited range of movement of the left ankle. Oupa was stabilised and referred to Mediclinic for further management. X-ray revealed distal fracture of left fibula (fracture above left ankle). He will see a specialist in Johannesburg and is expected to undergo surgery to rectify the injury before the end of the week,” he says.

The Sea Robbers are also minus suspended defenders Happy Jele and Siyabonga Sangweni for the first leg tie at Orlando Stadium.
