Khenyeza gets sucked into PSL’s merry-go-round

The coaching changes season is in full swing with Mabhudi Khenyeza becoming the latest to join the fray.

Such has been the long list of changes in the Betway Premiership since the end of last season that half the teams – Mamelodi Sundowns (twice), Kaizer Chiefs, Richards Bay FC, AmaZulu FC, TS Galaxy, Marumo Gallants, Sekhukhune United, Chippa United, and now Golden Arrows – have had to make changes.

Sundowns have moved from Rulani Mokwena to Manqoba Mngqithi and Miguel Cardoso, Chiefs brought in Nasreddine Nabi in place of Cavin Johnson, Richards Bay have had Brandon Truter come back and leave, AmaZulu now have Arthur Zwane and Vusumuzi Vilakazi in place of Pablo Franco Martin.

TS Galaxy have turned to Adnan Beganovic following Sead Ramovic's departure, while Dan Malesela is back at Marumo Gallants after Dylan Kerr left within weeks of his appointment.

Sekhukhune brought back Lehlohonolo Seema on the eve of the start of the new season after Peter Hyballa's brief stay.

Out in the Eastern Cape, Chippa United elevated Kwanele Kopo to the role of sole head coach after serving as co-coach with Thabo September since his arrival at the club.

With Khenyeza having stepped aside at Arrows, where he has been back as the head after Steve Komphela went back to Sundowns, rumours suggest he is headed to Richards Bay.

It is said that Khenyeza has been considered for a technical team role on better terms than what he has been on at Arrows.

The exact job – either head coach or assistant – is not clear at this stage as Richards Bay are considering other options, but what is known is that he will get his terms of employment improved.

Since Truter's sacking, the Natal Rich Boyz Noko have had Ronnie Gabriel as the stand-in coach.
