Magical display | Sirino takes Nabi's breath away

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has heaped praise on mercurial midfielder Gaston Sirino following another impressive performance in the Betway Premiership victory over AmaZulu FC.

Chiefs made it two wins on the bounce with a 3-1 scalping of AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday.

Ranga Chivaviro opened the scoring, with Sirino and Inacio Miguel following suit, all in the first half.

Etiosa Ighodaro pulled one back for the hosts in the second stanza.

For Sirino – who also got the assist for Miguel's headed effort - the well-hit goal was a first in Amakhosi colours, continuing with his bright start to life at Naturena.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Nabi said the Uruguayan had brought much-needed quality and experience to his side.

"We're very happy about Sirino and the great experience that he has brought to us," Nabi said.

"He is a great example of a range of quality and class and has had a positive impact on the whole team if you think about players like Mfundo Vilakazi, Mdu [Mduduzi] Shabalala and Samkelo Zwane.

"He has a lot of range and in a way, we can say it's a good thing because he is one of the most serious players in terms of involvement and in terms of his defensive duties when we see the way he comes back to defend, for example.

"He is exactly the kind of player I would like to get.

"If you remember, I already said that I don't want to have middle-class players, that I want to have very highly experienced and top-quality players like Sirino," added the Tunisian-Belgian.

Chiefs will have little time to celebrate their victory as they face perhaps their toughest test yet in the form of Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

The match is at FNB Stadium.
