Nabi provides update on Chiefs' readiness...

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has provided an update on his charges' readiness for their upcoming match against AmaZulu FC, where a win will see them keeping pace with the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

Amakhosi will be locking horns with AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday evening with one thing on their minds: victory, after coming from behind to beat 10-man Marumo Gallants in their Betway Premiership opener on 14 September.

Speaking to the club's media ahead of the match, the head coach said his troops are ready to make it two league wins on the trot.

"Our preparation has been good. We have watched the previous game of our opponents, AmaZulu, and analysed the strengths of the team and some areas where we believe they have weaknesses that we can exploit," the Tunisian-Belgian said.

"The turnaround times between matches can present challenges. If you have more than one week's rest between games you can lose something.

"But our fitness coaches have been working hard to get the players in the best possible shape to perform at a high level."

Depending on the number of goals they score and concede, a win on Wednesday could take the Soweto giants up to the summit of the standings.

After all, they are one of just eight teams in the division that won their opening fixtures and could be one of the four to have made it two victories from two.

The other are Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, Golden Arrows and Polokwane, with the latter then losing their third outing.

For Usuthu, a win would only take them as high as sixth, having lost their opening encounter against Polokwane City.

Chiefs go into the match with an almost clean bill of health, having recently welcomed back Mduduzi Mdantsane from a jaw injury.

Bongani Sam, Dillan Solomons and George Matlou have also recovered from their respective injuries.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 19:30.
