Tanzanian giants Yanga have reportedly tied down in-demand Congolese striker Fiston Kalala Mayele in a blockbuster new deal.

Yanga are said to have agreed a five-year-deal with Mayele, warding off interest from DStv Premiership clubs including Kaizer Chiefs.

Mayele, who bagged 14 goals in CAF Competitions during a successful 2022/23 season, is set to earn above the R220 000-mark tax free, including bonuses, which will make him the highest paid player in Tanzanian football.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Young Africans tie down Fiston Mayele to new blockbuster deal to ward off DStv Prem interest" story:

"R220k is that highest in Tanzania? Tell them we have players earning over a million here in the PSL," says Rio Da Khosi.

"Two Sundowns rejects are earning over two million doing nothing. If this club was building RDP houses for poor people, they would have been making a difference in Mzansi," says ngwanamoshate.70.

"Even Tanzanian teams beat the hell out the Zebra (Chiefs), this was Zebra target," says His Majesty Yellow PSL Beast.

"10 Million (Mayele's value) is peanuts to Sundowns. Don't be surprised if he ends up there," says lwazihnzimande.

"Meanwhile Chiefs is still monitoring him," says Saavedra.

"Mayele Chivavaro would be fearful strike partnership for Chiefs, unfortunately they not free agents," says Zebra to hell.

Amakhosi announced the departure of midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange on Thursday after the expiration of his contract.

The 31-year-old Bafana international signed for the Glamour Boys in 2021 from Stellenbosch, only managing 31 appearances since then in an underwhelming spell at Chiefs.

Nange is tipped to reunited with Gavin Hunt at SuperSport United on a free transfer.

Here's how the readers reacted to Nange's departure in the "BREAKING | Kaizer Chiefs release out-of-favour midfielder" story:

"You are talented and a good player, you will deliver where you will be signed. They nearly destroyed your career. GO AND PROVE THEM WRONG, ZWANE DID NOT KNOW HOW TO UTILISE YOU," says peter95157.

"So, its clear Zwane will be still the Chiefs coach next season," says shabanguntuthuko.

"This boy should have joined Sundowns. Look now, his career is almost finished with 0 silverware," says Sva2022.
